But I have some relevant feedback for IKMultimedia (hopefully they're paying attention) that might also serve as useful information for anyone considering purchasing the software.

You may download the free CE versions to try it out.Sorry for the thread resurrect, but despite pre-ordering ST4 a while ago I only got around to downloading and installing it this week because I was waiting on a new computer. The interface includes the great TRacks plugins. From all accounts ST4 is a great improvement over the older versions. Not sure I'm entirely understanding your questions since your main language isn't English. Mainly because I often mix up my projects and find going non-multi often easier for what I do. I mostly use ST4 as an independent instrument instead of a multi. Many times it has more to do with the musician and the programming ability than the library IMHO. A good musician who understands the program could make it sound incredible though. When it comes down to sheer quality though and things like mic positions and scripting there are better libraries out there mainly for Kontakt.

In certain mixes something like the Philharmonic competes well with some dedicated sample libraries. In some ways it's easier to use than Kontakt. It has something like 300gb of sounds in it. Sampletank works similar to Kontakt in that it's a shell that can be a multi. Not only that, but there's a lot you can do with the programming. Those are two very large and fully stocked programs. If you already have Omisphere and Halion I don't see you gaining much depending on the libraries you have. I thought the pianos and sampled acoustic guitars were pretty nice. Whether they will be something you want to use is another thing altogether. As Simeon says, there are also many new sounds. In my opinion the advertising is a bit misleading since Sampletank 4 MAX is a combination of all sounds. If I had bought the older versions I think I would feel the same way in wondering how much of the content was new. I didn't have the older Sampletank sounds other than a few of the free paks, so in my case it was all new. So, am I getting sample tank 2 and 3 with a better interface it did they use new samples and just used the same presets? That's my question and decision if I'm but it or not. However, sample tank 3 was good not great (except their pianos) but I hated the interface.

I never was a fan of sample tank 2 sounds.

Now, my issue is as I was almost about to buy I went to the pdf file on their site and it seems the massive library of sounds is majority made up up of sampletank 3 and 2 sounds just repacked regurgitated and shipped out.

Those two I guess are the big three as I tried expand and those sounds were not that great just okay, kinda like buying a Casio work station and I have the Triton and Korg m1 and the Roland's jv and expansions. I looked at Vir V.I One but I want to shedding not in kontakt form as it's a big clunky. More when I need, but i come from hardware workstations and I always had a motif fantom and a m3 from the big three at the same time, so I'm a workstation junky. It's just sampletank 4 I am interested in. I have omnisphere so not be looking for suggestions of other synths. Okay so before we begin, I have Halion 6.
